10.06.2010 Ross University School of Medicine Chooses BioTime to Track Student Attendance

June 1, 2010—(Orlando, FL)—Ross University School of Medicine, a provider of medical education offering a Doctor of Medicine degree program, has selected BioTime for their student attendance tracking needs.

Since BioTime’s installation, Ross University has been able to accurately track the attendance of students attending laboratory courses. By placing FingerPass terminals at each lab entrance, the School can now track when a student enters and leaves the lab. The BioTime system also produces detailed reports for analysis.

“It’s important for us to make sure our students are attending classes and labs to fulfill their graduation requirements. With BioTime and the FingerPass wall-mounted terminals, we can ensure these future doctors are spending the time they need to excel in their education. BioTime lets us manage attendance with a level of certainty and precision we didn’t have previously,” said Crispin Wallace, IT manager, Ross University.

BioTime, based on core biometric fingerprint technology from BioLink Solutions, is a flexible and scalable biometric fingerprint time and attendance system that grants schools the ability to track their student’s schedules and to reduce inaccuracies prevalent in older non-biometric systems such as sign in sheets or manual headcounts. With biometrics, BioTime ensures schools that attendance times reported are correct and verified by the fingerprint of the student. In addition, for organizations such as Ross University, integration of existing systems is an important consideration. With Bio-Metrica’s Microsoft Active Directory (AD) connector utility, Ross University was able to transfer all of their student information from AD and into BioTime with just a single mouse click.

“With BioTime, schools can be assured their students will be where they need to be. When fallibility and reliability of older, non-biometric, systems come into question, BioTime’s use of biometrics ensures that students are present and at their scheduled class or lab times,” said Ronen Yacobi, CEO of Bio-Metrica, LLC.
