BioLink WebSDK contains libraries installed on a web-server. Using them facilitates user identification by fingerprints. With a large database size, users can be verified (one-to-one), thus reducing the system response time: the user enters a login and then confirms his/her access rights via previously enrolled fingerprint.
An easy-to-use plug-in and a biometric scanner are installed on the client side. No further steps are required on the part of the developer for integrating the plug-in into the overall infrastructure of a web-application; the BioLink software performs all functions related to processing the identifier that is captured by a biometric scanner.
BioLink WebSDK is fully compliant with Active Server Pages technology, based on an Internet Information Server platform: the developer deals with a conventional library, which is a COM-object.
Users can flexibly customize their rights with one-time enrollment of biometric identifiers. Subsequently, users can be authorized by a fingerprint in several sections of the same website or various websites or portals in a fast and convenient way.
User rights are managed in one of the following ways (as the developer defines):
- Libraries that are part of BioLink WebSDK (all the required interfaces are available)
- Standard utility BioLink Logon Manager (part of BioLink IDenium and BioLink Authentication Center software)
To store user data (including biometric credentials), the following software and hardware is used:
- Fault-tolerant scalable server of the BioLink Authenteon family
- BioLink AMIS automated multi-biometric information system (for nationwide applications)
BioLink WebSDK also comprises:
- Complete documentation with examples on how to use biometric identification technologies for web-applications
- Demo website (based on ASP technology and illustrating biometric identification features via the Internet).
WebSDK system requirements are:
Server side:
- Microsoft Windows NT or later;
- Internet Information Server 4.0 or later;
- BioLink Authenteon server (the local version is included in the package, available only during the development stage) or BioLink Authentication Center.
Client side:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later
- BioLink Authentication Center or BioLink IDenium.
