Employee Identification
The key technique employed is user identification by fingerprints that cannot be stolen, lost, forgotten or shared with peers.
In addition to biometrics, identification by contactless cards or PIN-code is recommended for use in a multi-factor mode. For example, to restrict access to highly secure areas, it is appropriate to use the combination of a fingerprint and contactless card. To accelerate the flow of employees through a main entrance, it makes sense to use a fingerprint and a PIN code.
Check-In/Check-Out Event Registration
A registration procedure is performed by producing the appropriate identification parameter – a fingerprint, card or PIN-code – to a fingerprint scanner, card reader or access control terminal, accordingly. In case T&A and access control features are combined, the registration procedure is followed by opening an electromechanic or electromagnetic door-lock, turnstile or gateway.
Time Schedules & Accounting Policies
Used to effectively account work hours, time schedules, accounting policies and the list of the most popular positions, all pre-configured in BioTime. New schedules, accounting policies and job positions can be added quickly with user-friendly and convenient administration tools.
Reporting
Reports are generated automatically and promptly delivered to senior managers, heads of divisions, HR and payroll departments, and IT-staff who can be notified in real time on the presence or absence of a given employee.
Support for Remote Offices
For a company with a widely-dispersed network of remote offices, BioTime serves as a unified system, operating in all remote offices and branches, thus providing for centralized management and report generation using consolidated data within the entire company.
Support for Hierarchical Company Structure
Report generation can be done for the entire company, specific divisions or given employees. A comprehensive hierarchical company structure is supported where in particular, reports can be generated for specific departments, divisions, etc.
Access Rights in BioTime
The right to access BioTime reports is granted to system managers. BioTime is supplied with pre-configured standard manager profiles:
- An administrator holds all the permissions, including the right to add new employees and achieve information on those who have been dismissed
- An inspector can generate and view reports
- An operator , in addition to an inspector's functions, can insert information on unplanned events, such as an unscheduled business trip, sick leave, compensatory time-off, etc into the work timesheet
Additional Role Customization
Additional access rights restriction is also available, where a division manager can only access the work time information related to the employees of his/her division. Flexible customization of managers’ roles and permissions can be an addition to standard administrator, operator and inspector profiles.
Integration of T&A and Access Control Features
T&A and access control subsystems can be managed centrally to streamline the related business procedures and ensure their transparency. Integration of personnel management and security systems reduces the company's expenses and enhances overall discipline within the company.
Highly secure areas, such as senior managers' offices, server rooms or warehouses can be additionally safeguarded by restricting the appropriate access rights.
Modular Structure
The system can be easily expanded by adding the following additional modules (work stations):
- Administrator module (adding new users, creating and viewing schedules, policies and reports)
- Checkpoints (recording arrival and departure events, including remote offices)
- Access control administrator (creating and implementing access control policies and generating reports)
- Safeguard (monitoring entrance into buildings with restricted access)
Diversity of Readers and Identifiers
Supported identification devices are as follows:
- Optical fingerprint scanners (for office use and embedded)
- Access control terminals
- Readers for contactless cards and tokens
- Biometric information kiosks
Supported identifiers are as follows:
- Fingerprints
- PIN-code (used with BioLink FingerPass IC terminal);
- Proximity cards and tokens supporting Mifare and EM-Marine standards (used in combination with BioLink FingerPass terminal).
